FAQ
The follow instructions will walk you through the process of configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 for use with ZeroLag's e-mail services. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
1. Open Outlook 2003. Click on the Tools menu, then click E-mail accounts.

2. If you have already set up your ZeroLag e-mail account in Outlook 2003 but are having problems with it, select View or change existing accounts, as illustrated below. However, if you have not yet set up your ZeroLag e-mail account in Outlook 2003, select Add a new e-mail account and complete the new account wizard before continuing.

3. Click on the ZeroLag account and then click on Change.

4. Click POP3 and click Next.

5. Ensure all fields on this screen are correct.
Your name: This can be set to anything, but it is recommended that you use your full name, such as John Smith.
E-mail address: This should be your ZeroLag-supplied e-mail address, in the format of user@yourdomain.com.
Incoming mail server: This should always be pop.zerolag.com.
Outgoing mail server: Your ISP (the company that connects your computer to the Internet) should provide you with an SMTP (outbound e-mail) server. You should contact your ISP and find out the name of the SMTP server and whether or not it requires authentication.
User Name: This is provided by ZeroLag, and is in the format of prefix dash user.
Password: This is also provided by ZeroLag.
Log on using Secure Password Authentication: This should not be checked.
After reviewing the information on this screen, click More settings.

6. These settings can be left as-is, or changed to suit your needs. Next, click on Outgoing server.

7. This can be set one of two ways, depending on your ISP's Outgoing mail server. If the server does not require authentication, simply do not check My outgoing server requires authentication. If it does require authentication, check My outgoing server requires authentication, and then check Log on using. You will then need to fill out the User Name and Password fields with the username and password provided by your ISP.
When you're done, click Connection.

8. Select Connect using my local area network and then click Advanced.

9. Ensure that the following options are set as follows:
Incoming server: 110
Outgoing server: 25
Leave a copy of messages on the server: Unchecked

10. Save your changes by clicking OK and Next until you are back at your Inbox. In order for your changes to take affect, you will need to close Outlook and re-open it. If you continue to have any problems with your e-mail, contact us.
